Gheorghe Cutasevici

Gheorghe Cutasevici (1938–2022) was a poet, prose writer, publicist, translator, and editor, actively involved in the Romanian literary sphere. Known for his poetry dedicated to children and young readers, as well as for his satirical writings and moral reflections, Cutasevici cultivated an expressive and accessible style deeply connected to social realities.

He made his editorial debut with the volume Hora fulgilor, launching a diverse literary career that included poetry, short prose, satire, and youth literature. Some of his works were published under the pseudonym Jorj Distant, particularly those with a humorous and critical tone.

The central themes of his work include moral values, human dignity, personal responsibility, and the relationship between the individual and the community. Through his writings, Gheorghe Cutasevici aimed to convey educational messages and stimulate critical thinking, while maintaining poetic sensitivity and refined irony.
