Aleksandr Ivanovich Herzen (Russian: Алекса́ндр Ива́нович Ге́рцен) was a Russian novelist, philosopher, and revolutionary democrat.

He spent the last part of his life in London, where he edited the revolutionary newspaper Kolokol. His writings develop, following the model of the natural school, the idea of the impact of society on personality.
