Jules Gabriel Verne was a French author pioneer of the science-fiction literature. His well known novels, such as Journey to the Center of the Earth (1864), Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea (1870), and Around the World in Eighty Days (1873), are famous all over the world. Jules Verne wrote about space, air, and underwater travel before aircrafts, spatialships and submarines were even invented. He is the third most translated author in the world, according to Index Translationum and most of his famous books were scripts for films.
